What’s wrong with you? It’s only Tuesday…

You know I always have something up my sleeve for my fellow Francophones and this week is no different. Head on over to the Embassy of France this evening for a screening of Jacques Demy’s “Bay of Angels”.

Need to brush up on your French? No worries — it has English subtitles. This dramatic, emotionally penetrating romantic film will have you sitting on the edge of your seats the entire time as you follow Demy’s “investigation into love and obsession”.

The event is FREE to the public but online registration is required.

It’s always recommended to head to the Embassy events early. Attendees must have proof of reservation (doesn’t need to be printed) and a government issued photo ID matching their registration.
Due to their strict security measures they conduct a brief security screening and close the doors at 7PM sharp.

Individuals can sign up on Eventbrite.

The brains behind the Art Soiree — aka the District’s best art events — aka the lovely group who was gracious enough to give me my first solo exhibition as an artist, are back at it again with “Fractal Worlds” this week at ARTECHOUSE.

Okay, this event looks awesome and if you just so happen to have a mildly desperate obsession with the SYFY channel much like my husband then you’re totally going to geek out with this event.

Fractal worlds explores the “mind-bending sci-fi worlds and inifinite 3D geometric patterns” courtesy of artist Julius Horsthuis. This immersive art is definitely one for the books.

Horsthuis’ work has been previously featured in the Academy Award winning film “Manchester by the Sea”.

The exhibition itself is comprised of three installations and eight virtual reality stations.

Can’t make it? Don’t sweat it — this series is running through until the beginning of September, so you’ll have plenty of time to catch it when you can.

Daytime Admission runs from 10AM – 5PM and is kid-friendly.

Evening admission is 5:30PM – 11PM and is 21+.

Tickets can be purchased online at FareHarbor.
