Annual Cena Bianca – White Dinner

So if you’re looking to get your swanky swank on this week then look no further than  this week’s White Dinner being hosted on the Piazza at i Ricchi.  Attendees dress  in white and are encouraged to additionally bring a white accessory such as a hat, flower, jewelry, purse ect.

Those in attendance will get to enjoy a beautiful dinner under the stars in an all white setting tasting delicious offerings from i Ricchi’s summer menu which includes “cocktails, pastas, grilled meats, seafood salads and…house-made gelato.”

Search Inside Yourself

This awesome event is being hosted by Georgetown University and if you’re willing to drop a pretty penny to attend, you can encounter quite the transformational experience. Search Inside Yourself Leadership (SIYLI) is a two-day event that is full of personal and professional development that focuses on “building healthy mental habits for sustained high performance and well-being.”

The concept was actually initially developed at Google and is based in some of the latest research in neuroscience. The curriculum itself includes neuroscience, mindfulness, emotional intelligence and leadership. and helps professionals at all stages in their careers to “adapt, evolve and optimize impact and influence”.

The curriculum has been implemented in dozens of organizations internationally and uses scientifically proven methods for mental conditioning to help give you the keys to a new and improved you ready to take on the world.

Dancing Under the Stars Rooftop Party/ Bachata Brunch

Rooftop parties are just one of those things that you can’t help but love, huh? Take a break from the daily grind to attend this awesome rooftop pool event at the Liaison — it’s the largest in the city.  You’ll get to relax and take in some amazing views of Capitol Hill with a sunset cityscape to die for.

The event starts at 5PM and ends at 11PM, so you’re going to want to bring your stunnah gear to work with you so you can head straight on into the fun zone. Plenty of music and food will be available to those attending and you can thank DJ Sami and Executive Chef Douglas Alexander for that.

He’ll totally be grilling out.

Even better? Specialty drinks! #Yassss — there’s nothing better than a Bachata Brunch Frozen Mimosa and a rooftop cabana to end the day right.

History Happy Hour – Presidents & Their Speechwriters

For those of you looking for more educational or inspiring events to rev up your motivation for the work week, look no further than the History Happy Hour. This awesome event gives you untold stories surrounding some of the most famous speeches in US history.

Even better? Willard InterContinental bartender Jim Hewes will be in attendance as well as Robert Schlesinger, veteran journalist, who will be spearheading the discussions.

Film Screening & Talk | Guardians of the Earth

This awesome film screening and discussion will tackle the most important topic  out there — our planet — and what we can do to make a difference. Filmmaker Filip Antoni Malinowski will also be in attendance to discuss his project which details the Paris Climate Agreement and the impact of decisions that have been made.

Additionally,

Heather Coleman (Climate and Energy Director at Oxfam) and Stephanie Hanson Damassa (Washington Director at Climate Nexus)  will be in attendance to join in on the talk which will also be moderated by the Executive Director of the DC Environmental Film Festival, Maryanne Culpepper.

This awesome arts events is one you’ll be sure to love. The international project hosts a slew of original art installations, discussions on “life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness” , performances and even an augmented reality art hunt  courtesy of the awesome brains behind ARTECHOUSE”
all supporting the founding principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”

Even better — that’s right — it’s totally FREE and attendees can also enjoy late hours at participating Smithsonian museums to help ring in the summer solstice. 


Food Styling and Photography

Foodies UNITE! This event is one of those awesome little work week gems that can give you just enough joy to finish out your stressful workweek in peace. Check out Food Styling & Photography to learn techniques and fundamentals to food photography.

This 90-minute workshop will be taught by photography teacher Amanda Archibald.

Even better — you get disposable cameras! Whoo hoo!

26th Annual Giant National Capital BBQ Battle

 

Okay. All you foodies out there are going to need to put your noses to the grindstone. Prepare yourselves both mentally and physically for one of the biggest, baddest BBQ events our nation has to offer.

That’s right folks — I’m talking “America’s Food & Music Festival”.

This festival is full of free food samples, cold brews, wine tasting, cooking demos, contests and tons of cool headliners like Plain White T’s, Ocean Park Standoff and more.
