Can someone say TGIF?
I mean seriously, how excited are we for the weekend?
You’ve been working your tail off and now it’s time for you to chillax, let loose and have a bit of fun.
Lucky for you we’re here to help you see that through.
The bad news?
Well, unfortunately, the weather isn’t going to be 100% compliant.
We’re definitely looking at a rainy weekend, but the bright side of the coin is that showers will be isolated to Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, it looks like they’ll be wrapping up right around 9-10PM, but Sunday might be a bit more of a challenge based on the weather forecasts.
So bring your poncho Hondo!
A little rain ain’t gonna get in the way of my good time — you can bet your bottom dollar!
On to the weekend hitlist…

Okay, so this weekend marks the fourth annual SAAM Arcade and according to the website — it’s back — bigger and better than ever.
We know what you’re thinking — what the heck is the SAAM Arcade and when was the first through the third?
Well, that’s the same question I asked!
The SAAM Arcade is an awesome annual gaming event that features 15 indie games centered around a common theme of GAME SPACES.
Attendees get to test out the games and even get a chance to get to know the developers themselves in the Kogod Courtyard.
Even better — vintage lovers unite! There’s tons of vintage consoles and arcade cabinets from MAGFest, Arcades4Home.com and Mega Cat Studios transforms the Great Hall into a dope 1980s living room space.
There’s even a chance to sign up for a coding workshop at 4PM from Boolean Girl.
So check out the SAAM Arcade this weekend at the Smithsonian and Renwick Gallery for a great time for the whole family.
Oh–did we mention it’s #FREEEEEEEEEEE!

Okay, anyone who knows me knows that I’m a huge art fiend but — interesting factoid — did you know that Claude Monet is my second favorite painter of all time (right behind Jackson Pollock)?
Yep — the first time I saw his work “Impressionist Sunrise” I completely fell in love and knew that painting was something that I absolutely wanted to do with my life.
This weekend you can come check out the art film I, Claude Monet at the Avalon Theater to get a glimpse into the nitty gritty details of the artist’s life. It’s definitely a must-see for all of you art lovers out there.

Get your tuoukis out to Tu B’AVv to spread the love with Moishe House this Saturday at 3PM. What on earth is Tu B’Av, you ask?
Well, it’s a discussion and social action event meant to celebrate Tu B’AV aka the Jewish holiday of love. Moishe House is making an event of tackling the issue of homelessness in the District and they’re asking you to help out!
